FrontRow & Audio Updates Strengthen Security, Battery Performance, and Classroom Reliability

Boxlight’s FrontRow ecosystem continues to evolve with updates that improve day-to-day usability, long-term device health, and system-wide consistency. Recent releases across ELEVATE, microphones, and MyFrontRow are designed to help schools manage audio more easily—at scale.


ELEVATE Rollout – Version 1.2.12

This update simplifies deployment and expands security options, making it easier for IT teams to manage FrontRow systems across classrooms.

What’s new:

  • Windows DLLs included for easier installation on Windows computers
  • Support for security passwords on FrontRow devices
  • Microphone firmware updates enabled using the ELEVATE Mic App Connector Cable

Standard USB charging cables do not support mic firmware updates.


ELEVATE Mic Firmware – Version 1.33

This firmware release delivers meaningful improvements to reliability and battery efficiency – especially important for seasonal storage and long-term device health.

Key improvements:

  • Fix for a rare issue causing continuous beeping
  • Faster wake time when removed from the charger (under 2 seconds)
  • Improved battery performance:
    • Hibernation drain improved from 3 months to 18 months
    • Improved sleep-mode battery efficiency

This update is recommended for all users, particularly when microphones will be stored off chargers during extended breaks.

Hibernation tip:
Press and hold the Mute button for 8+ seconds until the mic powers off. To wake it up, place it back in the charger.


MyFrontRow – Version 2.1.1

The latest MyFrontRow update improves usability, consistency, and device management across platforms.

Highlights include:

  • Improved sign-in experience for Mac and Windows
  • Updates to meet Google Play Store requirements
  • Trial Mode support for password-protected devices
  • Improved windowed mode on EDLA panels (including MimioPro G and LUX)
  • Enhanced Teacher Mic detail screen and UI consistency
  • Custom input labels tied to specific devices
  • New Refresh button on the “About This Device” page
  • Additional UI updates and fixes

Coming Soon: UNITY Firmware Update

A UNITY firmware update is currently in development and will introduce support for ZipControl panels along with expanded MyFrontRow functionality.
